Post Trump

I was so saddened by the election. Mr. Trump is so clearly not the man we need to lead us. aside from his views that marginalize so many citizens. he is hampered by his character and lack of knowledge. That being said, the DNC played their part poorly, also. I can't speak to Mr. Trump, but I can speak to my party.

Just Because You Can

Doesn’t Mean You Should

Dear DNC, just because you can have super delegates

Doesn’t mean you should

Just because you can marginalize Bernie Sanders as an outsider

Doesn’t mean you should

National candidacy is not a reward for the good soldier

It wasn’t in 2008

And it wasn’t a good idea in 2016

The strongest candidate

With the largest number of committed supporters

Is what it takes to be heard

I love Hillary

We have struggled through some of the same barriers

And she succeeded beautifully in difficult circumstances

But hubris led her to believe that she was the candidate for the moment

Friends in important places supported her belief that it was her turn

There shouldn’t be any turns

The glass ceiling may have had cracks

But not for her

We, the members of the Democratic Party need to change our party so that it responds to the members. We can’t continue to allow the leadership to manipulate the process.

We, the citizens of USA, need to eliminate the Electoral College and listen to the will of the people. It’s not 1776.
