Dear Friends

This is a very old photo of our dear friends, Pico and Mele. They moved into our house and covered our hearts. We still miss them. When Ray and I talk about Pico and Mele, it always triggers further discussion about what happens after we die. I am sure that Pico and Mele will be waiting for me - in a young healthy form. Their joy will surround me. Ray isn't so sure about the form - he thinks that their spirits will be there and all spirits will join together. I'm not so sure about any of it, but it gives me great pleasure to feel that we will be so happy to see each other.

Kikiaua Beach

Yesterday we visited Kikiaua Beach and were truly wowed. We thought we had visited all the beaches on the Big Island but this lagoon was absolutely gorgeous. At the deepest, it's about 6-7 feet deep. A gentle decline into the water and you are in absolute delight. The water was wonderfully bouyant and the the sun was mild. The setting is quite stunning - it is enclosed by a black volcanic enclosure. Our friends, Precille and Mike, joined us and provided a wonderful picnic of green chile chicken sandwiches. As we were leaving, the sun was setting into a bank of low lying clouds, creating a dreamsicle colored sunset.
